Trail Maintenance

GORBA maintains the GORBA trail network at Guelph Lake through volunteer work.  During the mountain bike season (May to September), we hold a monthly trail maintenance.  We need your help, membership and donations to help us keep the trail system thriving.

2013 Maintenance

  • Sunday, May 5th
  • Saturday, June 1st
  • Sunday, July 7th
  • Saturday, August 10th
  • Saturday, September 7th

The trail maintenances will begin at 10am and the gathering place will be at the Guelph Lake Nature Centre on Conservation Drive in Guelph.  Please come dressed for the weather, bring water and a snack.  GORBA and non-GORBA members are welcome.  You do not need to bring any tools or supplies- GORBA will supply these.  We generally work on the trails for 2-3 hours, but we welcome any time you can give.

This is a great way to give back to the community, and we are happy to assign high school volunteer hours for the time spent helping us.

Why is Trail Maintenance Important?

  • Makes the trails safe for users
  • Minimizes the impact of the trails on the surrounding environment
  • Minimizes or address soil erosion
  • Educates trail users
  • Creates new trails and features
